This is a fully restored set of wheels that is spectacular!. These are unique because they are powdercoated with a graphite gray color, in addition to the lip being polished to a mirror shine.

Fully Restored.

This included professionally trueing a minor flat spot (minor bend) on one wheel and repairing some curb rash on some portions of the lips. All 4 wheel spin straight and true.

The outer lips were then polished to a mirror finish and the inner barrels were polished to a satin shine using the correct compounds and high speed polishing wheels.

The center sections were chemically stripped and then lightly media blasted prior to power-coating them with graphite gray metallic high end resin followed by a clear powdercoat. The critical wheel mounting surfaces were not coated so the wheels will mount metal to metal as they should. The lug mounting hole 60 degree seats were reamed out so there is the same type of metal to metal contact.

The wheels were then reassembled using the original hardware (Titanium bolts) that was cleaned up and hand polished, tightening each threaded BBS bolt to 18 ft-lbs. Each bolt was installed using medium strength thread locking compound as an additional measure to insure the bolts to not vibrate loose.

What you end up with is a properly restored and assembled set of wheels. I have included at least one photo of each wheel to see the quality of the refinish job. Note the powdercoat looks wet and has minimal orange-peal finish, indicating a proper powdercoat job. There are no flaws I can find other than three small handling related scratches on the polished lips. In addition, it appears as though some very fine debris got into the clear coat between a few spokes near the valve stem of one wheel center. Not visible from more than 2 feet away, but when viewed at a very close distance you can see many small dark specks.

I have spun each wheel on a balancer and verified that it is trued and straight.

These wheels came stock on the '03 E39 530 M package cars and routinely sell for well over $900 on ebay for excellent used examples, and these are far nicer than any used wheel you will see. These are favorite upgrade wheels older 5-lug BMWs such as E28 and E34 5-series, E24 6 series, and all the M cars (M3, M5, and M6). Because the offset is 20mm, they should fit just about any 5-lug BMW made prior to 2002 (Except E36 and E46 models which require narrow tires - google it). If installed on an older car with a 72.56 mm center bore, hubcentric rings are recommended, and I stock them for $25/4.

We are experts in the field and do not offer items that are defective. Once wheels leave our facility, damages can occur. We encourage the buyer to open and fully inspect this set of wheels within 3 days of receipt and make any "not as described" claims within this period. In the event the buyer is not pleased with the wheels due to Aardvarc's error in not properly describing the wheels or as a result of transport, Aardvarc will accept and pay for return shipping of the wheels, and will make a full refund or make the appropriate repairs and ship the wheel(s) back to the buyer at Aadvarc's expense. If the buyer's installer damages a wheel, Aardvarc is willing to make any repairs at the buyer's expense. If the buyer has "buyer's remorse" and wants to return the wheels because they do not fit his car or are not the correct color, size, or other aspect, Aardvarc will accept a return and refund buyer's full payment minus the original shipping cost and a 10% restocking fee.
