Waltham 18s 15 Jewel Pocket watch. The movement serial number is 4771129 - model 1883, grade No. 35 manufactured in 1891. The movement is still running and keeping good time 135 years after manufacture!
The watch case is a nice Silveroid case made by the Fahys Watch Case Company. These
old silveroid/nickel watches look really sharp when polished up - this
case still has some bumps and bruises,
but has the overall look and feel of a new watch sold in the late 1800s,
early 1900s! This is a very nice 3-piece case with screw-on front bezel and rear lid, both screw on/off fine.
The crystal is a new glass crystal from White's Crystals. The watch has a nice Silveroid bow, and very worn brass crown.
The porcelain-enamel dial has thin black Roman numerals. This dial is in very good condition, there are a couple of very faint hairline cracks radiating from the seconds dial. Please check the pictures. The thin spade-style steel hands are blued, the second hand is also blue.
The movement is 15 jewels, the balance wheel has good motion, and the movement has been cleaned and is in running order. This movement received a new alloy mainspring as part of the service. This is a nicely running example of the Model 1883 Frosted movement. The Frosties were only made for 3 years and have some of the most varied damaskeening patterns of the time, making them a favorite of collectors.
This watch is pendant set. Pull out the crown to set the time, push the crown back in to wind the watch.
The
watch has been recently serviced, is running and keeps time to within a
few minutes each day. These old pocket watches make fun gifts for
friends and family.

ship clean, running watches, and you should expect to get a watch that
will start up with a wind of the mainspring and a twist to get the
balance started. Once in a while the watch may get a knock in shipment
such that the movement will not start up. If that happens, please let me
