Offered is a Proceed AVP Audio/Video Preamplifier in exceptionally clean, open-box condition.
This is a high-end home theater and audio preamplifier from Proceed/Madrigal Audio Laboratories, designed for serious audiophile and home theater systems. The AVP was an advanced component for its era, featuring sophisticated digital signal processing and support for Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS, Dolby Pro Logic and THX surround formats.
Condition:
* Open box / essentially new condition
* Never used as part of a system
* Unit has been powered up and fully tested and is working properly
* Extremely clean front panel and chassis
* Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the description
* Serial number and other identifying information are visible on the actual unit/photos
Features include:
* Dolby Digital (AC-3) decoding
* DTS decoding
* Dolby Pro Logic
* THX Cinema
* Stereo Surround and other surround modes
* Multiple analog and digital audio inputs
* Composite and S-Video switching
* Balanced and single-ended audio outputs
* Main and remote-zone audio paths
* Programmable source assignments
* On-screen setup and configuration
* Remote-control capability
* High-quality construction typical of Proceed/Madrigal equipment
The AVP was designed around a flexible, software-based digital signal-processing architecture, allowing it to handle different surround formats through its DSP system rather than requiring a separate processor for each format.
Technical information:
* Model: Proceed AVP
* Manufacturer/brand: Proceed / Madrigal Audio Laboratories
* Type: Audio/Video Preamplifier / Surround Processor
* Approx. dimensions: 17.26” W × 4.55” H × 13.28” D
* Weight: approximately 27 lbs.
* Audio: balanced and single-ended inputs/outputs
* Video: composite and S-Video inputs/outputs
This is a particularly nice opportunity for a collector or enthusiast looking for a clean, original Proceed AVP. The combination of its condition and the fact that it has been tested and confirmed operational makes it considerably more appealing than the typical used example.
Please note: This is vintage high-end audio equipment, so buyers should be aware that the AVP predates modern HDMI-based home theater equipment. It is best suited to a vintage/high-end audio or home theater system, or to collectors and enthusiasts of Proceed/Madrigal equipment.
