Product Overview

This is a vintage Ampex PRT 2400 "High Frequency" magnetic recording tape. The PRT 2400 series features a 0.5 mil polyester base, providing "double play" length (2400 feet) on a standard 7-inch reel. Produced by the Ampex Corporation in Redwood City, California, these tapes were known for their Ferrosheen process, which offered improved longevity and frequency response for professional and home recording during the 1960s and 70s.

Condition Details

The item is New Old Stock (NOS) and remains factory sealed in its original plastic shrink wrap. While the seal is intact, there may be minor shelf wear or small tears in the plastic consistent with age and long-term storage.
