Original-owner copy, purchased new at launch in 1997. This is the BLACK LABEL release (original print run), not the later Greatest Hits reissue — confirmed by the straight "PlayStation" header on the spine (no red Greatest Hits banner) and the SLUS-00067 catalog code on disc and case.

• Game disc — Konami, NTSC U/C, authentic (proper yellow Konami label, full mold ring stamping visible on the inner mirror)
• Manual — with the original Metal Gear Solid "Coming Soon" full-page ad on the back cover, which shipped only in the 1997 launch printing

Tested and working. Booted on a PSOne with LCD screen attachment and runs through the title sequence cleanly (photo included).

Condition disclosures:

• Case: cosmetically intact and holds the disc properly. Light surface scratches on the exterior, plus two stress cracks on the inside of the spine where the plastic has fatigued over 29 years (close-up photo included). The cracks are surface-level — you cannot feel them, and they don't affect how the case closes or how the disc seats.
• Disc: very light surface marks consistent with careful long-term ownership. Plays through without issue.
• Manual: clean and intact, no tears, no writing.
